Microsoft has been trying to catch up to Siebel, Salesforce.com, and other vendors in the CRM Software space for quite some time. The company finally released a real contender in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 including a sleuth of enhancements in terms of configuration and customization, allowing customers to choose from hosted or installed deployment, and tightly integrated with Microsoft Outlook.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 has been designed for maximum portability. The latest version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM comes with four clients including two Outlook clients with one enabling offline usage; a HTML thin client for remote access; and one tailored for mobile phone and PDA users. Microsoft Dynamics CRM suite can now be bought as a hosted service or as installed software from Microsoft's large network of resellers. Microsoft Dynamics CRM is deeply integrated with Microsoft Outlook which was a goal that the CRM team from Microsoft wanted to accomplish.
Microsoft has made the pricing for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 very attractive to buyers. For Microsoft Dynamcis CRM 3.0, Microsoft offers a subscription-based price of $24.95/month for the complete suite as hosted service. For installed software, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition is priced between $622 and $880 per user, and $1,244 and $1,761 per server. The Small Business Edition sells for between $440 and $499 per user, with per-server cost ranging between $528 and $599. All licenses include one year of tech support and maintenance.
